This piece was commissioned by Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock as part of the Oxfordshire 2007 celebrations marking a 1000 years of Oxfordshire as a county. Each block represents an individual participant’s expression of identity, whether it is a self-portrait, an activity that interests them or a place that is significant for them.Identity is experienced as fluid, changing and fragmented but within this, is a celebration of diversity and difference. All blocks were cut from reclaimed wood found locally hence high-lighting the importance of recycling and using the resourses around us in the creative process.
